About Us

The Ohio TechAngels (“OTA”) provide investment capital for commercialization of innovations in information technology, advanced materials, and medical technology. The goal of all of our Funds is to support early-stage Ohio-based entities by facilitating risk sharing on opportunities with high upside potential. OTA actively seeks to co-invest with:

• OTA Members and their networks
• State of Ohio supported validation funds
• Midwest angel funds
• Venture capital funds active in Ohio

Fund I has been fully invested and is no longer seeking new opportunities.

Fund II is seeking Ohio-based opportunities in information technology, advanced materials, and medical technology. However, OTA has little interest in the following:

• Consumer Retail Products
• Businesses in the restaurant, travel or lodging industries
• Products or services focused on fashions, fads, toys or seasonal concepts
• Commercial real-estate, oil or gas projects

For opportunities that fall into the above categories, we welcome entrepreneurs to make cameo presentations at our monthly meetings.  While not a formal pitch to the fund, these appearances  may pique interest among some members who can add value by either investing or making helpful connections.
