Central Ohio Startup 3X Featured in COJUG Podcast
The Central Oho Java Users Group (COJUG) recently featured 3X Systems team members in a podcast posted on the group's Web site. During the interview, Eric Floehr, chief technology officer, and Dan Shinton, vice president of application development, provide an insightful overview of what it's like to work within a startup company being launched in Central Ohio. The two compare and contrast the differences between working for a large company versus a small company. Although the demands of a smaller company dictate a more irregular work schedule, both say it's worth it when the trade off, among other benefits, is seeing your work in production and knowing that you made a significant contribution to the development of a new product. The two also provide a snapshot of what it's like to work within the TechColumbus incubator. "There are a lot of smart people you run into in the halls here," said Floehr.
TechColumbus Entrepreneur in Residence, Greg Moore, is working with 3X to help prepare them for their first round of venture funding. In January of this year, the company was awarded TechColumbus Regional Commercialization Funding (RCF) of up to $500,000 to be used for product refinement and proof of market demand. The end goal being to attract the venture capital needed to launch 3X onto a global stage. Floehr and Shinton say the company is currently gearing up for this launch and there are currently a number of Java programming positions open within the company. They encourage anyone with Java skills who want to know what it's like to become part of a startup company to contact 3X for more information.
